LED bulbs also do not generate heat which means that it is much safer to handle. This is also the reason why these bulbs last longer due to the absence of heat which can basically destroys components of the traditional bulbs. There are sockets that are specially made for LED bulbs that doesn't have the usual size of other bulbs but of you already have existing sockets at home, then you can still use these bulbs provided that you use the one that will fit into your old sockets.

 

The advancements of technology in lighting has made the LED bulbs the next generation lighting solution.  A 12V LED lamp is the counterpart of the 40V incandescent bulb but the LED bulb only consumes 2 watts of power. LED bulbs also uses a different semiconductor materials compared to the traditional ones.
